What the Post doesn't say is, she is the wife of a DMK Party functionary in Nagercoil. And Governor Ravi, brought this to himself. 

When he broke the usual protocols repeatedly and failed to act on democratically passed bills in State Assembly, he just opened a can of worms. I do not support the current ruling party, and even I felt, he was doing too much. Being flexible and involving in cordial dialogue with the ruling party should be the norm. When he didn't do it, he naturally lost the "respect" given to his position. If he couldn't create an amicable environment, he should have resigned. There have been Governors across India, who were from the other party than the party ruling the state, and they would have also have had to approve bills &amp; laws which they personally do not approve of, but democratically they went ahead. That's the norm. 

I personally do not approve the bills which he didn't approve &amp; later got auto approved following SC judgement. But, what he did was a grave mistake IMO. He has to respect democracy &amp; should have approved them on-time. And he failed, and got his name tarnished further by SC. 

In short - What you saow, so shall you reap.. It's better he just resigns or when his tenure end, it is not extended.

Its very simple and straightforward. When giving contract to private or any agency politicians gets commission. Remember this was 2000+ cr contract then think of the commissions they might get. When those people of part of govt, politicians can't get anything to their pocket as the salary directly goes to the account. Its purely for the commission and corruption nothing else.

Why are only mostly dalit women in sanitation workers job? Govt should review their skills and attempt to assign them to other jobs or fields. 

I think privatization in this field is a right move with guarantees on minimum wage should be in place, remove or replace workers who are not working properly should be a basic norms in govt services. This govt is incompetent in taking care of the cleanliness and waste management. Private players should be encouraged and job security should be removed from govt jobs, if they are good then have them else replace and get the work done. Pay them properly for their work and their dedication.

We should focus on regulating private companies instead of protesting against it. For years we have seen nothing but bureaucratic BS and not an efficient one. Labour market should be decided by supply and demand and not by vote bank promise. If 15k is the salary offer then it is because of demand/ complexity of the job. We should never support permanent jobs. It has always let to lazy worker in govt. We should focus on blocking private organisations shutting down competition
